Ready to float for the first time?

Floating is the Ultimate Escape

Floating in a sensory deprivation tank for 60-90 minutes can relieve stress, clear your mind, and allows you to escape the constant pressure from life’s daily stress.

Sometimes, people who have yet to experience Floating can bring fears or worries into the tank with them. It helps to learn about floating beforehand, so you can enter the tank feeling truly relaxed and enjoy the experience.

Helpful tips to consider before your first float

  • Don't wax or shave 8 hours before (salt can sting open wounds).

  • Nothing to bring but an open mind.

  • Everything you need is provided in our flotation rooms (towels, earplugs, shampoo, conditioner, and Q-tips).

  • A swimsuit is not necessary.

  • Consume as little caffeine as possible before your float.

  • Eat a light meal 1-2 hours before your float.

  • If you wear contacts, you’ll want to take them out before you float.

Please reschedule if you have had:

  • A spray tan in the last 48 hours

  • Temporary or permanent hair dye in the last 72 hours

  • A new Tattoo in the last 4-6 weeks

When you arrive

  1. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment time. We will greet you, offer a tour, and answer any of your questions; we want you to feel welcome and relaxed.

  2. Once you enter the float room, remove your clothes and all jewelry. Shower to remove oils, fragrances, and hair products; all shower and float essentials are provided for you.

  3. Dry your face to avoid distracting water droplets, insert your foam earplugs, and step into the tank.

  4. Lie back, resting your head into the water, legs extended and arms over your head or extended at your side. Your ears will be under the water line, but your face will remain above it. Find what’s comfortable for you.

  5. The audio will gently fade on and a chime will sound when your session is complete.

  6. When you exit the tank, take a shower again to remove any salty residue. Once you’re dressed, please exit the room to make way for our next floater.

During your float

When entering/exiting the tank, please be careful, so as to avoid slipping or splashing the salty water into your eyes.

Some people find that gentle music from underwater speakers helps them to relax.

It is noted that there is no "flotation therapist", although there is a need to instruct the floater and need to maintain the equipment in a safe condition.

However, flotation therapy is compatible with other therapies as a preparation or conjunct activity. Examples include massage, sauna, talk therapy, and hypnosis.

After your float

We have a blow dry bar with a mirror if you’d like to style your hair or put makeup on.

No need to rush away; continue to relax in the quiet room or enjoy some conversation in our communal area.

Stay as long or as little as you like after your float. You are welcome to hang out, read, chat, make some tea, or just bask in your post-float glow.
