How to Create the Perfect Spa Day at Hope Floats in Bethesda, MD (with pricing)

Looking to make the most of a relaxing day off near DC? The perfect spa day is all under one roof at Hope Floats. Here, we will break down how to prepare and help you decide which services to book to make the most of your spa day.

Preparing for the Ultimate DMV Spa Day

Getting the most out of your Hope Floats experience starts before you arrive. A little preparation goes a long way toward helping your mind and body settle so you can make the most out of every minute.

  • Have a relaxing morning. Do your best to avoid rushing or overscheduling before your appointment. The more relaxed you are when you arrive, the faster you will drop into a deeper state of meditation.

  • Limit caffeine intake. Caffeine can make your mind anxious, and your body feel jittery. Stick to water or herbal teas to make the most of your session.

  • Eat a light meal. Come in nourished, but not full. A heavy meal before floating can be distracting and uncomfortable.

  • Bring a book. Reading in the sauna or the lobby can help improve your mindset before heading into the tank.

  • No swimsuit required. All of our rooms are private and equipped with robes, towels, and slippers. You will shower before and after your session, so come as you are.

Book your appointment ahead of time

While we welcome walk-in appointments, you'll want to make sure the oasis of your choosing is available. Especially if you are planning to enjoy multiple modalities in a row, bringing a guest with you, or visiting us over the weekend, we recommend booking online or calling ahead of time.

Start in the Sauna

The best spa days start with sweat. The gentle heat from the infrared sauna will open up your pores and prepare your mind and body for what's to come.

We have three different private sauna rooms:

Each type of sauna is located in a private room with a shower, robes, linens, and toiletries

Far-Infrared Sauna

The far-infrared sauna penetrates deep into the muscles, warming your body from the inside. Use the far-infrared sauna for 30 minutes to work up a sweat and loosen up your muscles, or 45 minutes to improve your cardiovascular health and reduce inflammation.

30-minute Far Infrared Sauna: $40

45-minute Far Infrared Sauna: $55

Full-Spectrum Infrared Sauna

The Full-Spectrum Sauna has all the benefits of the far infrared sauna with the added benefits of near and mid-infrared light. Near-infrared light has been shown to improve skin health, and mid-infrared light can expand blood vessels and improve circulation.

30-minute Full-Spectrum Sauna: $50

45-minute Full-Spectrum Sauna: $65

Contrast Therapy

Contrast therapy combines the benefits of the far-infrared sauna with the 45-degree cold plunge. This can make you more alert, focused, and motivated for the rest of your spa day.

30-minute Contrast Therapy: $65

60-minute Contrast Therapy: $100

Treat yourself to a massage

Once you have warmed up your muscles in the sauna and relaxed in the float tank, meet with one of our experienced massage therapists. Their specialties include Fascial Stretch Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, and Deep Tissue Massage.

Stretch if you want to reduce tension, recover from strenuous activities, or improve your mobility and range of motion.

Lymphatic Drainage can help with fatigue or fogginess, reduce swelling or bloating, and encourage your body to naturally detox.

Deep tissue massage will relieve tension by breaking up knots caused by stress or injury.

1-Hour Massage: $150

Finish your DC Spa Day with A Cold Plunge

No spa day is complete without some sort of challenge. Our cold plunge bath is set to 45°, so it only takes a couple of minutes to feel the benefits. Most people prefer a cold plunge last because it leaves them feeling refreshed and energized for the rest of the day.

15-minute Cold Plunge: $35
